Real Estates in Tripunithura are gaining their rates in the real estate market. The upcoming of IT parks in Kochi lead to this situation. As a result a number of spaces are required in terms of housing and working place. Housing Development and Infrastructure Ltd (HDIL) is to set up an IT park at Kalamassery, near Kochi. HDIL Cyber city will come up on a 70-acre plot with a total built-up area of 7.9 million sq ft of which 5.4 million sq ft will be used for IT space and the rest for hospitality, retail and entertainment. The total investment in the project is Rs 2,000 crore. Meanwhile, environmentalists are worried that the beautiful countryside with long stretches of paddy fields and hills would be gone forever. Not just the land to be acquired for the project, but the whole area surrounding it would turn into real estate. Because of the boom in real estate caused by the Smart City, the paddy fields in Thrikkakara and nearby panchayats would vanish

The Centre has granted special economic zone (SEZ) status to 25 acres of Cyberpark Kozhikode, an eco-friendly IT Park being developed as a hub-and-spoke model in the Malabar region of North Kerala.IT-Kerala, a Kerala government initiative, is developing the park in 43 acres of land. The park will provide SEZ and non-SEZ space to clients serving the domestic and international markets.
